Hobby: Music Writing

For the Music Writing hobby you'll need a Teen and various instruments. The first one you need is a keyboard. During the Road to Fame quest you are guided through how the Music Writing Hobby works, but I also added it here for completion of the hobbies guides.

This hobby is very different from any others. The collection can only be completed by using different instruments, one for each line of "music pieces". And more importantly only ONE teen can do it!

Each instrument comes in three star levels. With each line/instrument the time increases as well, 3 star keyboard takes 30 mins, whereas the 3 star microphone takes 3 hours! The instruments are unlocked during the Road to Fame quest.

The first line is done with a keyboard and works much like any other hobby. Keep repeating until you collected all the required "music pieces" for that instrument and unlock the other instruments.
The first four lines are:
- Bass Guitar
- Drum Set
- Electric Guitar
- Microphone
The fifth line is a resource for the Sim Town sign.

So in total there are 5 lines of 3 music pieces, totalling 15 items to collect.

Note: there is no need to keep the instruments around while using one of them, there is only 1 Teen who can go for Teen Idol. Any attempts to have another teen starting the hobby clears the hobby from the previous teen idol (on the tracker) and stops them playing an instrument if they were in the process of doing so.

This hobby does NOT have a special bonus item for finishing it the first time, the reward is 3 LPs (and unlocks the Sim Town sign).

Once you started the hobby collection for the second time, the first two line rewards are 1,000 XP and 1,500 XP, the last three line rewards are required for the Sim Town sign: TV Show Cameo, Radio Interview and Magazine Photoshoot.

The rewards of § for each music piece keep repaying, even if you've already collected them. (Like with Woodworking).

There are two advantages of having a high level Teen Idol, the competition center might issue a Teen Idol competition and your Teen Idol can be photographed, asked for an autograph or even been swooned by other teens!

Levels:
1. What's an Instrument?
2. Karaoke Specialist
3. Support Act
4. Triple Treat
5. Virtuoso
